Iron Moun­tain Inc. dis­closed Wednes­day the chief of its dig­i­tal busi­ness unit would be leav­ing at the end of the year and will be replaced by the founder of its eDis­cov­ery prod­uct unit.

John Clancy, pres­i­dent of Iron Moun­tain Dig­i­tal, is leav­ing the Boston records man­age­ment com­pany (NYSE: IRM) to become CEO in Res­i­dence at Boston invest­ment shop Schooner Cap­i­tal LLC. The firm is a major investor in lron Moun­tain and is located in the same build­ing as Iron Mountain’s headquarters.

Dur­ing Clancy’s tenure the dig­i­tal unit, which includes dig­i­tal records stor­age ser­vices and soft­ware to orga­nize and recover infor­ma­tion, grew to $230 mil­lion from $50 million.
